Charlotte Swift, a thirteen year old Lewiston public school student, was attacked by two seventh grade girls on October 2, 2024. She received a concussion in the incident.
Charlotte’s mother, Heather, is fighting to protect her daughter from future trauma while operating a small business. She is a hairdresser.
The internet has enabled connection between Heather and concerned citizens around the world. Heather is leveraging these relationships to force the School Board to protect her autistic daughter, Charlotte.
Lewiston, Maine was established by French Canadian laborers in the early twentieth century. It is the most Roman Catholic city in Southern Maine. Religious, political and cultural tensions emerged about a decade ago when Catholic Charities settled over a thousand Somali refugees in the small city. The resettlement caused instant visible change on Main Street, and in the social order of Lewiston.
Officials refuse to identify the ethnicity of the two attackers. The government’s longstanding effort to divide Mainers based on skin color makes Heather and Charlotte “white.”
Third generation Mainer, Paul Madore, observed, “While the tensions are subsiding they still exist here. I applaud Heather’s momma bear attitude toward the government. Parents, not the government, are responsible for their children. That’s why I homeschooled my nine children.”
Maine’s government-run school system is facing a multi hundred million dollar hit from the Trump administration over state government’s love affair with transgendering. Democrats are hell bent on pushing sexual and gender insanity while Republicans offer tepid and ineffective resistance.
